What is your role at Genflow?
As a Post-Production Manager, my overall responsibility is to ensure the content team is executing the best content possible for our clients, manage the day-to-day and assist on all phases of post-production.

I also work on several pieces of content myself, including campaign videos, ads, imagery, and much more!

The highlight of your time at Genflow so far?
Winning Employee Of The Year in December 2020.

I’m not one for long speeches, etc, in fact, I couldn’t even get my words together when I was announced the winner, however, everyone who knows me knows how hard I work, and having the company recognise that, meant a whole lot to me - especially during such a challenging year.

Best career advice for someone starting a job in content creation?
Never stop being curious and learning. Creativity is key and technology is always evolving, there’s so much to keep up with so you have to be extremely passionate about content creation to succeed.

Your best tip for editing a video for YouTube?
It all depends on what sort of video content you create on YouTube, but my best tip is to generate as much excitement as possible throughout the video. Adding animations, SFX, etc helps massively to engage your audience - just don’t go overboard; adding too much may confuse your audience with the overall message.

Your favourite creator (Instagram, YouTube or TikTok)?
Sam Kolder & Sam Newton are at the top of my list. They are incredible videographers/editors with various signature styles and a big inspiration to not just myself but many others that follow their work. I love their process, you can tell how much thought goes behind every video they share with their audience.
